Pastor Michael D. Austin was born to the late Edward & Viola Austin in the hills of Fireco WV. He is the (11th) sibling of a family of (14) fourteen. His early years were formative in the preparation for his future. While attending school he was noted for his athletic abilities. Acknowledged by coaches for his powerful impact on the football field, as well as the basketball arena...he was known by many of his opponents. Pastor Austin was highlighted in newspapers throughout his High School years in which he achieved a full college scholarship.
He achieved his Bachelor's in Business Administration from Concord College. During those last two years on campus...............
He so often quotes "I went to a meeting one night and my heart wasn't right--something got a hold of me--and it was the Holy Ghost!!" In 1979 after a traumatic crisis Pastor Austin, had his first encounter with the Lord. During a Revival in Beckley WV, he made his greatest life-changing decision. “He Received Him"! On that night he became a Son-of God. He made an exchange from running a (ball) to caring The (Gospel).
His spiritual mentors were: Elder J. Irving and Pastor Ruby Berry. He grew under their leadership. His love for Christ abounded greatly. In 1980-1981, he obeyed the call to ministry and has faithfully maintained his integrity with God and man.
In 1991, Pastor Austin & family transferred to the Charleston area due to a job promotion. He remained under the Pastor ship of National Mother Ruby Berry until 1992; after which he was installed by the Executive Board of Church of God MPGT director. He has dedicated his life to the ministry...feeding & caring for the flock chosen by God. He also fulfills the obligation as District-Elder for the entire state of WV.....of the COGMPGT churches.
Pastor Austin has been married to the Elect Lady (Min. Mattie Austin) since February 14, 1982. They are the proud parents of (4) sons--Michael II; Stephen; Mathew; Jonathan; and (1) daughter, Genel.
They all live in the Saint Albans arrear and work faithfully in the ministry.
Not only has Pastor Austin, been committed to God, family and church ministry, but also to the vision set forth in his spirit. -- Church Unity; Church Growth; and the Spirit of Discernment. He has participated in many higher learning classes relating to church knowledge. He encourages higher education "My people perish for lack of knowledge."
On September 23, 2006 Pastor Austin as candidate accepted the promotion instituted by God.....the ordination of Bishop.

Beginnings!!" And through his life he has exemplified this very statement!
